Petey lived on a farm near here, and he was a happy bird. He had all the corn he could eat, a barn with a loft, and lots of love.

- But then the farm was sold, and Petey had to move.

My husband's friend agreed to have Petey come and live at his farm instead.

Great!!!

Petey enjoyed the trip in a large cage, and was anxious to see his new digs. So anxious, that while his cage was being unloaded, he escaped and flew away!

We were all quite concerned. After all, his home farm was miles and miles away, and he was on his own in a strange place.

After about two hours of looking and calling for him in the trees and bushes, we left the barn door open, set out some corn, and had to hope for the best.

But there was no reason for worry. Petey was found the next morning happily eating corn in the barn.

He loves living at his new place! He sometimes hangs out with the chickens, happily ignores the cows, and honks at the resident farm cat regularly.
